This program has also been implemented by EAKBC-WDA since its establishment. Accordingly, EAKBC-WDA trained over 1705 people (90% women) in business and entrepreneurship skills and organized them in over 107 SHGs and the members saved over ETB 1.1 million so far. To encourage the women and strengthen the initiative, donors also injected over ETB 2.2 million. As a result, over 500 women received about ETB 2.3 million of loans from the 107 SHGs and started to run businesses. So far out of the total money loaned out, nearly ETB 1 million has been collected. In general the SHGs are on flourishing and supporting their members. Change is becoming a reality due to active participation of the community.
